Brandon Hecht is 17 years old and he is in Grade 11 at Ross School. He is a member of the JV basketball team. He has been playing basketball since 8th grade and practices about 2 hours a day during the season. During the off-season, he plays pickup in the Ross School gym, for about 30 minutes a day. The most memorable moment in JV basketball this year was returning to his last game of the season this year, posting up, and scoring.

Hecht’s goal for the 2017 season was to get better at post moves and form, and to strengthen his knees. In order to improve for future basketball seasons, Hecht will use the elliptical machine and have checkups every few months with his sports doctors and advising team. Hecht has not gotten any awarda so far, but he considers beating one of his teammates, Miles, one-on-one an award. The only challenges that he faced this season were knee problems and chronic knee pain. According to Hecht, his weaknesses are: “plantar fasciitis, flat feet, patellar tracking disorder, being fast, and shooting threes”. His strengths are: “his arms, calf muscles, posting up, being aggressive and intimidating, and a powerful dribble”.
